Out The Bedroom Window

Out the Bedroom Window centers the domestic interior as a site of environmental and emotional connection. Rooted in folk traditions and women’s domestic labor, it illuminates perspectives long erased from mainstream landscape narratives. Using wooden frames that reference windows and painting supports, and makeup brushes for painting, the work situates viewers within a lived-in perspective of the home. The window frames inherited ways of seeing, complicating them while revealing the domestic within the landscape and the care and labor it sustains.
